How to play WoW for free using tokens.

I'm a lot like you: I like WoW and the $15/month is not that much money, but playing for free is nice. Utilizing the token system, it's relatively easy to play WoW for free (assuming you have been playing for a while and have some higher level characters).Obviously to do this you need to buy a WoW token once per month. The first step is determining how much gold this would take. Using a site like this, you can see that the price of a WoW token (in the US) is currently fluctuating between around 19,000g and 25,000g. An important thing to notice is that the price fluctuation is quite constant, it typically peaks at around 6-8pm (central time) and then typically bottoms out at around 6-8am. This is the first step to playing for free:
Always buy your WoW token in the morning when they (approximately) bottom out
    .

Doing so allows you to save around 20%, and earning 20,000 gold per month (allowing for some token wiggle room) is quite attainable. Of course there are limitless ways to earn gold, and I'll leave the bulk of the searching up to you (you can find a multitude of guides all over the internet). I'll talk about the two ways I use to make the most gold with the least effort and least competition, you'll notice that they require the use of garrisons which does require higher level characters:
    1) Use the Treasure Hunter trait on garrison followers.

This is easily done using the Inn building to recruit a brand new follower with the Treasure Hunter trait guaranteed. Checking your missions constantly is optimal, but twice a day for a minute or two per character is perfectly fine. With an army of Treasure Hunter followers and the level 3 Inn treasure missions, you'll often find yourself coming back to 400-800g or even more. Some missions give a 250g or 500g baseline reward, meaning you'll get 1000g or 2000g with 3 Treasure Hunter followers! My income on a character with a bunch of Treasure Hunters is anywhere from 300 to 2000 gold every 12 hours, typically around 600 gold per day. This alone is enough (18000 gold) to pretty much pay for your WoW time!

    2) Use the garrison's Gem Boutique jewelcrafting daily.

This one is quite easy: if you have a follower with the jewelcrafting trait working at your level 2 or 3 Gem Boutique building, they will offer you a quest once per day. This quest can be to turn in some ore or craft something using the jewelcrafting profession (which can be done using the building). The quest typically requires 20-60 of either kind of ore (or both), it just depends. You can usually completely this daily easily using the ore you mine from your garrison's mine. This daily rewards a random amount of gold in the 100-300 gold range. At an average of 200 gold a day, this means each character you have doing these dailies generates 6000 gold per month!
