In this tutorial I will tell you how to change dungeons into normal maps. How can this be useful? You can use this tutorial to setup new spawn points inside dungeons, or maybe even custom quest/leveling zones.

Now this is the type of error you would get, if you tried to make a raid/dungeon a new spawn point without making this edits.

Opening Taliis and choosing the DBC file you wish to edit.
In this tutorial I will be using Hellfire Ramps as an example.

After you have Taliis open, push CTRL+O and select the Map.dbc file, I'd suggest keeping a backup of the map.dbc before making any edits.

Now once you have Map.dbc loaded into Taliis Editor, now you will need to double click Map.dbc and click on "Table".

Now you should see something like this:

Once you found the map you wish to change into a normal zone, go to row 2 as shown in the picture below. And change that number to a 0.
Now go down the list until you find the map/dungeon you wish to turn into a normal zone, and go two rows over as shown in the picture below, and change that number to 0.

Once you have made this simple edit, you will need to save the new edited DBC file. You can do this by pushing CTRL + Shift + S or simply by selecting "File" at the top left hand conner and click "Save As" and make sure to name the new file Map.dbc.

Creating the custom patch.
Open up the MPQ Editor and click on File-> New MPQ.
Name it patch-4.MPQ -> Create an Empty Archive -> Next -> Format 2.0.

Right click on patch-4.MPQ in the MPQ Editor and select New folder and name it DBFilesClient.

Now that you have created the DBFilesClient folder, you will need to right click the folder and click add new files, and select the new Map.dbc which you just edited.

Now after you have added the Map.dbc file into the DBFilesClient, you're done. Just close the MPQ editor, and the new custom patch can be found in the same folder your MPQ editor is located. All you have to do now is place the new patch into your Data folder, which can be located inside your World Of Warcraft folder. And you can now use the dungeon / raid you just edited to make it into a new spawn point, or anything you wish as it's now a normal map.
