Great work on this repack!

I have an answer to the elusive "issue" that some users are reporting when trying to run your "mangos_0000-0038_all.sql" file. I noticed you are using SQLyog Community Edition which is fine. I use SQLyog Enterprise Edition which is more selective on how it runs queries for reliability reasons and this is where the problem comes up.

It seems you have a single statement that does not end with a ; and this is causing the problems that you have heard about. The offending statement is:

UPDATE gameobject_template SET ScriptName='go_scourge_enclosure' WHERE entry=191548

Once I added a ; at the end of this statement, the entire query was properly processed in SQLyog Enterprise Edition with no problems. I am sure this will fix issues with other MySQL GUI software that are more selective like this.

I assume that this issue is also present in the new mangos_0000-0039_all.sql file in the update you just posted but of course this is an easy fix.

You can place the gem, but you will not get the stat bonus for it until you have the requirements.

Strange i don't see any add gems, enchatns and i know that command but i say you can do this without jewelecrafting... Normal if you don't have this prof on 350 you can't put it ;)

Edit:
On video i see that not all items show enchants, gems, bonus stats :rolleyes:

Hey @CT I am finally sorted with a new HDD after my backup drive went down also was gutted about that. Finally caught up with work as well now so I will be setting this away again now. Can I just say god bless you brother 41 updates thats a lot of work +rep and amen for the BAN hammer :D

It was very easy to put together on my end, and just about any question I could have had was easily found within this thread. I look forward to seeing what else you have up your sleeve for this project. I found this site as a referral from a friend, I was just looking for something simple to amuse the family around the house, and this repack and the crew that put together MaNGOS, satisfied what I was looking for. No problems to report but I have a quick question...

The last version of Mangos that I was familiar with and used regularly was back before WOTLK came out during the TBC expansion. Back then there was a loyalty variable that you could define in the mangosd.conf file which controlled the pets loyalty to your character. I don't see that option in the current Mangos version. Is there a way to adjust this so that the pet rarely gets unhappy?

Sadly that particular variable was relegated to the circular bin, not sure why, it may have been placed inside the game's executable.

Optional vmaps (Vertical Collision Detection Maps)
The vmap extractor is now in the tools folder of the Cumulative Updates.
Place the extracted files from it in your World of Warcraft/Data/enUS folder then double-click the makevmaps_SIMPLE.bat file

Make sure your mangosd.conf file has the following variables set:

vmap.enableLOS = 1
vmap.enableHeight = 1
vmap.ignoreMapIds = ""
vmap.ignoreSpellIds = "7720"
vmap.enableIndoorCheck = 1
DetectPosCollision = 1

Hey Cthulhu Ftagn, I've noticed the Burning Crusade quest "Zeth'Gor must burn" doesn't work [id 10895] - you put a smoke barrel under a guard tower and then gryphon riders are supposed to come and bomb it but nothing happens and it doesn't register as the guard tower having been bombed.

Also the quest "Laying waste to the unwanted" [id 10078] requires you to ignite some siege machinery - again when you click to ignite it, nothing happens and the quest doesn't register you as having done it.

i've got problem with starting mangso with vmaps enabled, i turned on options in config but, pasted vmaps and buildings folders to c:\server\mangos\win32 but when i trying to start it i've got this error message:

Use the vmaps extractor from the Cumulative Update's tools folder.

If you would have read the first post of this topic, you would have seen this


Optional vmaps (Vertical Collision Detection Maps)
The vmap extractor is now in the tools folder of the Cumulative Updates.
Place the extracted files from it in your World of Warcraft/Data/enUS folder then double-click the makevmaps_SIMPLE.bat file

Then make sure the lines in your mangosd.conf file look like this:

vmap.enableLOS = 1
vmap.enableHeight = 1
...

Is there a way to get rid of the Auction House Mail delay? I found in the mangos config a way to make mail instant, but when the AHBOT purchases something, it takes a while for the mail to arrive from his purchase.

I donīt know if this has anything to do with your problem but...you use both US and EU versions??? use only the american version...errr i didnt use the Buildings folder and its running like a charm on my side...now iīm confused...

Yeah, that's because in update 48 it was only a ScriptDev2 update, there was no update to the MaNGOS core.

I never really bothered myself with this AHBot, but I've decided to try it out so I setup my auction character and everything and now AHBot loads a bunch of items when I'm starting up the server but the problem is when I opet auction house there's nothing. I mean shouldn't AHBot post items on auction and buy my items or I'm wrong somewhere ?

@siema86 - Nothing to worry about, I inquired about this yesterday. It is just a warning about the ISAM format. Server loads fine regardless.

@marko94 - look in your /server/mangos folder. You will find a file labeled something like AHbotreadme. Inside you will see a couple of lines IN the database that need to be edited. (I had this same problem when I first started, and this is how I fixed it) Change the 0 in MIN Item to something like 200 and MAX to something like 500 on all (3) lines. Log in and you will see all the auction houses are populated, provided you followed the rest of the instructions on editing your mangosconf file also. Good luck

Just on the AHBot note - firstly I've had it fail to load items in WoW for no apparent reason once, even though it was working perfectly the day before. This may be the error you're having so just reboot MySQL and the "restarter" and it should be OK - worked for me.

The other problem may be that it's not loading enough items. The default number of items is pretty small, and it may seem there are no items but it's probably just because only a few obscure items have been loaded. I got rid of this problem by setting the min/max items to 100,000 each. It is now pretty close to the original server's auction house!

with your favorite database editor open your characters db then under the auctionhousebot table make sure you put a min/max number in each aliance, horde, and neutral columns and make sure they are all the same number i used 1,000,
but u can use a what ever number want reboot your server and it should work for you.

First I use this macro to extend the graphics past Ultra:

/console horizonFarclip 6226I turn off the GUI by pressing alt+z and then zoom into my toon all the way. (Sometimes I will press the home key to make sure my toon is looking straight forward)

Then I bind this macro to a key and press it 8 times (making sure to wait until the Screenshot Captured text is gone):


/run FlipCameraYaw(45) Screenshot()And then it's Photoshop CS4.

he said that it will let you download it but it will not install it until cataclysm comes out.
and he said that that won't be until sometime in November according to Blizzard.

I was wondering about your plans on the development of this repack. Will another one start once the new expansion starts? My interest is to have last version of the repack before the expansion hits as its probably going to be a long time before things settle down with the development on the new expansion. Patch 4.0.1, or 4.0.0, will just be a conversion patch that will be exposing the user base to the some changes that Cataclysm will be bring into the game(I.e talent changes, ability changes, stat changes, Master Riding/Flying, Water changes, UI changes, etc.)..not sure how many of you played Vanilla/Burning Crusade but they did the same prior to each of the previous expansions (Van. > BC, and BC > WoTLK). The patch will probably come out during October, and then be followed by the expansion a few weeks later (going off how they have done it in the past). Will also allow blizzard to squash bugs prior to the game being released and flooded with UI bugs / etc, though they may happen anyways.

I've downloaded it, it probably won't be installed until October, they tend to do this a lot with the big patches, allowing you to download portions of it that is, so you don't have to sit for 24hrs downloading a single patch, you will have downloaded portions of it over a certain amount of time (We're at Part 2/X).

Hello! First i want to thank you for your work and for sharing this repack. The repack is well made but i do have a problem updating to last version.
I watched the video 10 times or maybe more and i still don't figure how to do it.
My steps are:

1.Download update and put the update folder somewhere...
2.I open the DB folder and i open the "empty" folder and i read the description wich says to inject (copy/paste?) the updates from mangos folder to the "empty" folder and execute the truncation SQL.
3.I copy/paste the updates from mangos folder in the "empty" folder and run truncation SQL (im using HEIDI SQL as application and i don't know if its good or bad)...
4.I really don't know what to do...i have opened my SQL server from the Local Disc/C:/Server and run MySQL.
5.I run the truncation SQL with HEIDI SQL application and don't know what to do...

Please i need a guide step by step for dummies because i really don't understand the video guide and i never did this before so if u got some time, please make a guide for me but make it as simple as u can if possible ofcourse. Thanks again for the repack and i hope u can help me update it to last version.

PS: I've encountered a bug and its pretty annoying and i hope by updating the problem will be fixed.
The bug is: (monsters,npc or whatever we call them can see me thru walls and i get aggro everytime im close to a wall for example in the jasperholde mine in goldshire i get suddenly aggro from mobs coming thru walls...i hope i was clear, my english is also very bad...) He's asking me to take time out of my day to make sure he understands how to do what has already been laid out in excruciating detail.

He's asking me how to set a few variables in a plain text config file for aggro and aggro radius, he's asking me why things are happening when he probably didn't bother to extract his vmaps.

But instead of researching any bit of it, I should take him by his 12 year old hand and guide him to be a continuous leacher... not gonna happen.

Damn CT, thats pretty much an epic PM. LIke I said before, I am new to the WoW EMU world, but you had the most straight forward, and easiest repack instructions out there. Did I mention, thorough also? I dont think the kid had problems reading, I am leaning more towards, as you said, wanted everything on a damn silver platter. The bosses aren't using their spells probably because they aren't scripted, I may be wrong, but then tends to be the case.

This is a repack project, so not everything works as intended. As Zomg said, the scriptdev db is missing the scripts for this encounter. If you follow the mango's project team's updates, you will see the DB team has been pretty busy filling in a lot of missing scripts, etc. I would suggest either, hanging tight and waiting for this to be implemented, or learn to script the encounter via core and database. Hope that answers the question. Good luck.

Edit: The reason it works on "another" server is due to the fact, someone coded in the needed items to make the encounter work. A lot of private servers, seem to have their own Dev team(s) working out the kinks. or it is a different emu.

Like Unleashed mentioned, each repack(or server group) at times has their own Dev team that scripts things that others may not have yet, so what they may have included in their server repack, may differ from what CT includes in his repack. So, as was mentioned best you can do is wait and be patient.

EDIT: And an "up-to-date" Scriptdev db doesn't mean it includes the script for any particular boss, scriptdev applies to many different things aside from just the bosses.

So, looking at your pictures and noticing the fact that you aren't even using my updates or repack (as your scriptdev2 db_version is completely different than it should be - TRM CU 0059 ScriptDev2 1832) AND noticing that you do not have an empty database (though you may have dropped it) I would assume, probably and more than likely so, that you are either:

1. Asking about someone elses repack
2. Asking about your own compile
3. Aren't installing the updates and complaining about problems that probably don't exists
4. Probably, and more than likely, not entering instances correctly

etc, etc, ad infinitum ad nausem...

You also wasted the time of Zomg and Unleashed.

I doubt CT will get upset Unleashed, it's all about how you present the solution..if you're bugging him constantly and then just forcibly show a solution or something, he'll usually ignore it..but these little fixes here and there he tends to look at, and then implement if they meet his requirements, whatever they may be. I could also be wrong, as I haven't worked with CT in a while now, and do regrettably miss it.

Well, the vehicles patch has not been implemented yet skiik, I wrote a couple of posts back that I had to rewrite it (got a lot of errors when injecting it because of some things they've added to MaNGOS)...

Since CT will want to maintain the Blizzlike-ness of the server, I doubt he'll remove the doors, however what you can do, is after you kill the boss, (Lord Marrowgar), you can type .gm on and then open the door the way, should work for most of the doors. In the event the portal to the Upper Spire doesn't work, you can use one of the teleports to get up there, (.tele Bloodprinces) or something along those lines.

Thank you for the great repack, works great so far and easy to set up. just one question, how to apply the updates included in CU_0063 ? i guess it's copy paste for x64 folder but is it the same for the DB folder? only thing i could think about is putting the files in C:\Server\mysql\data and in the respective folders but it crashes mangosd.exe :confused:

Ormorok the Tree-Shaper (http://www.wowhead.com/npc=26794) in the nexus instance does not seem to work correctly on my server. Invisible mobs keep hitting all players till dead. Can anyone confirm this issue?

The violet hold instance instance does not work. The mob thats supposed to open the door to first boss fight does not do anything. Can anyone confirm?

Yes its messed up in that part but you can always open the doors as a GM ;) but i did never found a way to the lady to show up :(

Just noticed a typo in the game_tele table. The location in WOW for Farstrider Retreat is mispelled as 'FarstriderRetrear' when it should be 'FarstriderRetreat'

Here is the query I made to fix it.

I won't get into a debate about MaNGOS vs Trinity vs Ascent vs ArcEMU etc.

MaNGOS was the first emulator I ever used, it was stable, had a huge community behind it, was updated virtually every day and was very easy to edit and understand the code.

I figure it's a Ford vs Chevy argument, there are good arguments on each side and in the end they both do some things very well.
