Guide to Stranglethorn Vale Fishing Extravaganza, by Fatbeard
Introduction
A lot of people this that it's all about luck, but is that the way to win this weekend-event? Of course not, if you have ever been in this contest you may notice that the same person usually win. Obviously there is something that player does differently than the other players!
These guide goes through a few of the things that will help you win the SVFE.
Finding a Good Spot, is important. On the east coast of STV there is a really good spot, around 41,58, you will know this because there is two tastyfish spawns next to eachother. If there is no one there, you can actually run to the first one, fish everything up, go to the next one, finish that one up, and as I said, if no one else is there, you will be able to fish that again.
Always Fish Alone! This will increase the numbers of fish you are able to catch. Remember that a Tastyfish spawn only has 4-5 fishes per Spawn. So if you have almost finished the one you are fishing, or half-finished it, then it could be a good time to move on. Fighting with someone over a spawn/getting killed over a spawn will only reduce the time you have left to fish! Just move on, there are more spawns out there!
Time to get a good angle, I've seen a lot of my friends frequently getting those "Your cast did not land in fishable water"-messages. This stresses you out, as well as reduces your fishing time! And if you are a good fisher you can take advantage of other players giving up on those "impossible spots". Try positioning yourself so that there is as much water in front of you as possible. If you find that you still can’t hit the right spot, then try moving into the water.
Conclusion
There is usually a lot of people competing in SVFE, but if you follow these simple guidelines, you will be able to be one of the best! Remember, that you might not win the first time, but with some practise, you will become a whale hunter! Screw You Dolphin and Whale!
